Celebrating our 50th Anniversary: Rebecca Keenan Interview

As we continue to highlight our staff during our 50th Anniversary celebrations, this month we shine a light on Rebecca Keenan, our Marketing Assistant. She has been with the company for a year now joining us in the midst of COVID-19 lockdown. We decided it might be time to catch up with her to find out how she is enjoying her role and also the hobbies she enjoys outside of work.

Tell us a little bit about your role and what a typical day might look like?

For me, my day to day involves keeping on top of all our social media platforms. This could be from uploading content, liking and sharing relatable content or customer engagements and keeping track of the analytics from all platforms (Twitter, Facebook & LinkedIn) across all companies.

Alongside this I assist with website development for all companies, sending out press releases, monthly eNewsletters and helping to continue to grow the brand digitally.

During your time with the company what have you enjoyed the most?

Having joined the company only a year ago and also during a pandemic it has been quite an interesting start to my journey. As this is my first marketing position after graduating from University it has been very insightful to the industry and an enjoyable learning experience. This is mainly due to the great team I work with.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

I tend to spend my spare time enjoying life with friends and family. I also attend the gym around 4 times a week and also love visiting new restaurants around Glasgow as I am a big foodie and all about the balanced lifestyle!

Pre COVID19 I loved travelling so hoping to get back to that as soon as it’s safe.

Tell us something most people don’t know about you?

Something people may not know about me is that I have been volunteering at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children for 2 years. As a volunteer we are able to interact with kids by doing arts and crafts and playing numerous games on the wards.

I first started it during my time at University and have loved every minute of it. Due to the pandemic we haven’t been able to visit the kids for the past year.

Just being able to make someone smile through a hard time by doing something so small is pretty rewarding!

What would we most likely find you doing on the weekend?

You would find me meeting up with friends, spending some time at the gym or binge watching the latest Netflix series that I am obsessed with.

Do you have any goals you would like to achieve for 2021?

I would like to help contribute towards the growth of the business and also grow in my own role within the Marketing Team. Personally I am looking forward to finally moving into my first home.
