Here at Edinburgh Instruments, we are proud of all our employees for all they do behind the scenes, so we thought it was time to put them in the spotlight. This series does exactly that; you get a sneak peek into what drives, excites and enamours our team. We hope you enjoy it!
Meet Paula Duffy, Marketing Account Lead here at Edinburgh Instruments. Paula is the Operational lead for marketing activities, specialising in content which includes managing web content and email marketing whilst overseeing all other marketing functions for Edinburgh Instruments.
As marketing account lead for Edinburgh Instruments, I’m involved in all the marketing operations for the company but in different capacities, so each day can be quite different depending on what the priorities are. Over one week typically I will plan and write any email campaigns, upload and optimise content on the website, liaise with our advertising agencies about upcoming campaigns and approve social posts – plus review all this activity to assess impact! Of course, a lot of this is completed by working with other members of the marketing team, and some of our colleagues in Applications and Product. I love working in a role that’s really varied and allows me to work with lots of different people, it definitely keeps it interesting!
Now that the days are longer and weather has improved in Scotland, I’m really enjoying getting back to running. I wouldn’t call myself a “runner”, but I enjoy a short 20-minute run around the park after work to decompress. I also regularly go to the gym to work on strength goal – although my favourite form of exercise is a Les Mills Body Combat class.
I love spending time with friends and family – usually a nice walk in a park, or a more adventurous hill walk, followed by lunch or cake and coffee! I also really enjoy trying new restaurants throughout Glasgow – let me know if you have any recommendations!
I love spring rolls! In general, I like a lot of south-east Asian food like Thai or Vietnamese food. I visited Thailand a few years ago and fell in love with the cuisine. It really inspired me to try new and different types of food – the thriving food scene in Glasgow has really helped with this!
