What is Molecular Spectroscopy?

Molecular Spectroscopy is a subcategory of spectroscopy that studies the interaction of radiation with molecules and extended materials, as opposed to atomic spectroscopy techniques which deal with individual atoms. Samples that absorb (UV-vis spectroscopy), emit (Photoluminescence spectroscopy), or in elastically scatter (Raman spectroscopy) radiation may be studied by Molecular Spectroscopy techniques to obtain information on their electronic and vibrational transitions.

Molecular spectroscopy is widely used within chemical, physical and biological industries. Edinburgh Instruments Molecular Spectroscopy instrumentation is capable of serving the most demanding needs of research within those areas.

FLS1000

FLS1000 - Molecular Spectroscopy

Edinburgh Instruments FLS1000 is a state of the art, modular photoluminescence spectrometer for the most demanding applications in Photophysics, Photochemistry, Material Science and Life Sciences. The FLS1000 sets the standard in both steady state and time-resolved spectroscopy, providing maximum flexibility and leading sensitivity.

Discover more about the FLS1000 here.

FS5

FS5

The Edinburgh Instruments FS5 is a fully integrated, purpose-built spectrofluorometer which has multiple detector ports allowing measurements up to 1650nm, and lifetimes down to 25 ps in one instrument. The FS5 can handle the speed of routine analysis and the sensitivity of demanding research equipment which is suitable for analytical and research laboratories.
