Edinburgh Instruments is proud to announce the extension of its partnership with Edinburgh Rugby for a further three seasons, continuing our role as an Official Community Partner through to 2028.
This renewed agreement reflects our shared commitment to community engagement and education, with a particular focus on our flagship initiative, Tackling Science – a unique programme developed by Edinburgh Instruments Product Management, Application Scientist and Marketing teams. The initiative uses the excitement of rugby to bring science to life for young people from across Scotland.
By combining hands-on scientific experiments with the energy of professional sport, Tackling Science introduces students to real-world applications of STEM. We analyse hydration drinks, collect turf samples at Scottish Gas Murrayfield, and use our Edinburgh Instruments spectrometers for drug testing simulations. Our programme offers a dynamic and memorable learning experience and is delivered both at the Hive stadium and in our state-of-the-art Livingston lab. Piloted inn 2025, it has already inspired two cohorts of students, with many more to over the years to come.
As part of our broader community involvement, we’re also proud to continue supporting the Tickets to Inspire initiative. In collaboration with the City of Edinburgh Council and EVOC, this programme donates tickets to the iconic 1872 Cup derby, helping individuals and families from across Scotland access the joy of live sport – including those affected by homelessness, housing challenges, and food insecurity.
Our partnership in 2025/6 also extends to the pitch where we’re delighted to sponsor rising star Cammy Scott this season, we look forward to seeing him compete and have success on the pitch. Our branding remains visible on the Hive Stadium coaching box as the team competes in the BKT United Rugby Championship and Investec Champions Cup.
Roger Fenske, CEO of Edinburgh Instruments, said:
“Since becoming a sponsor in 2021, our partnership with Edinburgh Rugby has grown in reach, strength, and shared purpose. What began with a logo on the pitch-side boards has evolved into a collaboration that reflects our values – commitment, integrity, and empowerment. We’re proud to support the team and to invest in Tackling Science, which we hope will spark curiosity and inspire the next generation of scientists across Scotland. As we look ahead to the 2025/26 season, we do so with belief in our people, and in the lasting impact that both rugby and science can have beyond the pitch.”
