SCION
Social & Charity Events
In May our “Bake Sale” event for World Down’s Syndrome Day raised £304.00 through JustGiving, and Carmen To (Finance Manager) received a thank you letter from Down’s Syndrome Scotland in recognition of the donation. This was a fantastic achievement from all involved, and a great contribution to a worthy local charity.
As the weather began to improve in Q2, our social team took full advantage by arranging a staff BBQ. This was a great success, with outside catering providing us with a fantastic choice of food – everything from burgers and hot dogs to salads, outside seating, and even the good weather ! Staff from SCION and our Techcomp colleagues all mingled while enjoying the sunshine.
Joanna Freeke (Product Manager) and James Hogan (Lead Application Scientist) raised awareness of SCION within the student community, joining a Boosting Talents event in the Netherlands, where they met graduating students and discussed SCION Instruments and possible career opportunities.
Expanding the Team
Finally, we welcomed three new colleagues to SCION Instruments in Q2. Elena Connarty joined our Marketing team as Digital Marketing Executive, coming to us from the Edinburgh Instruments.
