Froilabo
General Updates
This quarter brought in a good number of orders, particularly in April and June which is promising for the rest of the year.
At the end of April, we had the pleasure of welcoming Jerry and Tom to our premises in Paris. We updated them on progress we have made so far this year but we excited to discuss our plans and future projects for the company.
Strengthening Ties with Servilab
We are delighted to share that our distributor Servilab placed its first stock order with us! This allows them to respond more quickly to customer needs. This is a first for Froilabo to have a small stock with a customer and strengthens our partnership with Servilab. We also welcomed Servilab to our Collégien site to train their new colleagues on Froilabo products.
New Beginnings
In May, we sadly closed our factory site in Meyzieu (near Lyon) but we are excited to have moved to a new co-working space in the Lyon Region.
Arnaud has now taken up his new role as sales manager. We wish him every success in his new role. We also welcomed our new after-sales service manager Cédric Odiot, he is settling in to his new role and we look forward to improving our after sales care and customer relationships.
Product Development – Keeping it Cool
Our research and development teams have been working hard to improve our ULT Freezers, and this has now lead to our freezers reaching the lowest temperature recorded in QC of our factory – below 90°C!
Valentin shared that this is due to:
- foaming process improvement (better foam density – better isolation) from adjusting the flow by ratio % of isocyanate and polyol and eliminate foaming leakages.
- evaporator on the tank – better flatness and over touch between the evaporator and tank is giving higher cooling transfer
Cross Company Training
At the end of June our sales team participated in two important training sessions. We visited Précisa France to improve our knowlege of Precisa balances, and strengthen sales of Precisa products across France, allowing us to cross promote our fellow Techcomp companies.
The team also visited Cryopal, a leading manufacturer of cryogenic products in France to train on a new range of cryogenic products. This will allow us to develop this range of products easily, with the manufacturer just a short distance from our Paris offices.
Visit to Biomedica
Our UK sales team had a successful visit to Oxford Biomedica, a biotech CDMO focussing on delivering life changing therapies to patients.
They have three of our CRP blast freezers, which look fantastic in their freezer room. They have standardised on these units as a way to reduce temperature burden on their long-term storage suite of -80 freezers.
