Professor Chan’s research is focused on the development of semiconducting polymer dots with blue to near-infrared fluorescence (NIR-II) for bioimaging and analytical detection, preparation of polymer dots for material science, as well as investigation of plasmon enhanced photoluminescence for point-of-care biomarker detection.
Professor Chan was awarded the Best Article Award in JCCS for 2019, as well as a number of distinguished research awards, and was recently interviewed by Nature for the successful development of a brand-new type of semiconducting polymer nanoparticle for biological applications and analytical detections.
