OB920 Spectrometer

The OB920 spectrometer is a modular, computer controlled, dedicated fluorescence lifetime spectrometer. Based on an L-geometry hardware configuration, the OB920 utilises the technique of Time Correlated Single Photon Counting (TCSPC) to measure lifetimes from 100ps to 10microseconds, with the accuracy and resolution that only the technique of TCSPC can offer.

The OB920 allows automatic acquisition and analysis of time resolved spectra, fluorescence anisotropy (with polariser option) and temperature dependence (with cryostat option).
 

The OB920 consists of the following hardware :

  • Nanosecond pulsed flashlamp, including driver and start synchronisation photomultiplier, gas filling and vacuum pumping station

  • Excitation monochromator: 100 mm focal length low temporal dispersion, high stray light rejection. Computer controlled wavelength selection, manual slit selection, wavelength accuracy 1nm

  • Sample chamber with liquid cooled cuvette holder and temperature monitor,

  • Emission monochromator: 100 mm focal length low temporal dispersion, high stray light rejection. Computer controlled wavelength selection, manual slit selection, wavelength accuracy 1nm

  • Single photon counting stop photomultiplier

  • TCC900 card for TCSPC data acquisition

  • Dedicated PC running F900 software for comprehensive spectrometer control, performance monitoring, fluorescence lifetime data acquisition and analysis library

Software Interface  :

The F900 advanced software is a user friendly package providing the user with complete instrument control. The F900 software controls measurement set-up and data acquisition all through a transparent menu. Control of the hardware settings on the TCC900 card are easily accessed through the F900 software. The software also provides the user with decay curve analysis for up to four exponential decay processes.
