Indoor Air Quality Monitors / Indicators /
Controllers
IAQ is a comprehensive index, including room temperature,
humidity, fresh air and diverse low concentrations of air
contaminants. Monitoring and controlling indoor air quality is
very important to ensure a healthy and safe living and working
environment.
The measurement of indoor air quality has, conventionally, been
used for comfort control and the prevention of Sick Building
Syndrome (SBS). However, what is meant by indoor air quality?
Two schools of thought seem to exist. One, common in the USA
looks to measure Carbon Dioxide (CO2). The
other, which is more popular in Europe, looks to detect Volatile
Organic Compounds (VOC's).
The measurement/detection of either, or both, of these
atmospheric gases can be used as an indicator of IAQ level or
further utilised as a control for part of a Demand Control
Ventilation system (DCV).
Edinburgh Instruments supply a diverse range
of IAQ Monitors, Indicators and Controllers to detect CO2,
CO, VOC and Ozone gases which affect our environment and
general well being.
