GASCARD NG - THE NEXT GENERATION IN OEM GAS SENSING

The Gascard NG infrared gas sensor is designed for ease of integration with a wide range of gas detection systems requiring accurate and reliable measurement of Carbon Dioxide, Carbon Monoxide or Methane gas concentrations in a background of air or air-like atmospheres.

The Gascard NG replaces the Gascard II model and is in most respects backward compatible with it. The Gascard NG has a modernised and improved main PCB giving on-board pressure correction, full temperature correction, true RS232 communications, optional LAN/TCPIP connectivity and greater all round flexibility. The new main PCB has built in features for future expansion for multi gas and multi sensor operation.

Main Features:

  • New electronics platform with increased power and versatility of modern microprocessors.

  • Backward compatible with the older generation of Gascard detectors.

  • Onboard Barometric Pressure Correction in the range 800mbar to 1150mbar.

  • Extensive Temperature compensation.

  • Lower operating voltage (7V) and wider operating voltage range (7V to 30V).

  • True RS232 communications for control and data logging. Optional onboard LAN support.

  • Future expansion facilities to allow addition of on-board data logging and more gas detection channels for both NDIR & chemical sensors.

Typical Target Gas and Measurement Ranges:

Carbon Dioxide - 500ppm, 1000ppm, 2000ppm, 3000ppm, 5000ppm
                           1%, 3%, 5%,  10%, 30%, 100%

Methane           - 5%, 10%, 30%, 100%

Carbon Monoxide - 3%, 10%, 30%, 100%

Other gases available on request - please ask for more details.

The Gascard NG sensor head and electronics are mounted on an Eurocard PCB for ease of integration. The Gascard NG has a number of bit-switches which enable the user to control various aspects of the sensors behaviour including analogue output and filter type selection.

The optical sensor head in the Gascard NG is equipped with a temperature sensor and the measured temperature is used by the microprocessor to automatically correct the output. In addition, the Gascard NG is equipped with a Barometric pressure sensor and again the measured data is used to automatically compensate the output for variations with pressure. These two automatic corrections ensure the indicated concentration is in true % V/V and is independent of temperature and pressure variations.

Each Gascard NG  carries a 2-year warranty against defective workmanship and parts, reflecting its inherent reliability.
