Alliances
Edinburgh Instruments Ltd. has built up
strategic alliances around the world to enhance and diversify
its current range of products.
Reflecting their international presence in the opto-electronics
market Edinburgh Instruments (EI) have grown successful
strategic alliances with leading corporations of the world.
In the Spring of 1995 an alliance was forged with the Japanese
company Hamamatsu Photonics KK (HPK) which saw them buy-into
EI as 25% shareholders.
The company HPK, under their motto "Photon is our business",
is the worlds' leading supplier of state of the art light
detectors, particularly photomultiplier tubes. The companies
now share reciprocal representation agreements whereby the
range of analytical spectrometers from Edinburgh Instruments
is promoted and sold in Japan by HPK and by their subsidiaries
in Germany (including Austria), Italy (including Slovenia,
Albania and Malta) and Portugal, while EI integrates
Hamamatsu products in our spectrometers. Also EI and HPK have joined
forces to collaborate in the development of specialist
electronics which are at the heart of a new generation of
spectroscopy products.
EI also contribute to many national and international research
and development products with academic and industrial partners
as well as providing state of the art custom designed products
for customers world-wide.
