Detectors
Edinburgh instruments offer a range of
detector modules that are suitable for either single photon
counting applications or analogue detection.
Single photon counting detector modules comprise a single
photon counting photomultiplier, together with an optimised
dynode chain, mounted in a light tight cooled or un-cooled
housing. The detector modules include the coupling flange
with the adaptive optics for direct compatibility to our
range of
FLS920,
OB920,
LifeSpec and
mini-tau
spectrometers. Special adapters can be offered to couple to
alternative systems.
Analogue detectors are used either for high
light level applications with the requirement for high
dynamic range or as alternative detectors in spectral ranges
where photomultipliers are unavailable or too expensive.
Depending on the required application, the analogue
detectors come in a variety of housings with a variety of
cooling options. Analogue detector modules have individual
bias requirements and include different amplifiers. They
come with a mounting/imaging flange attached. Analogue
detectors find application in the
LP920
laser flash photolysis spectrometers to extend the
spectral coverage into the NIR to 2.5µm or beyond.
Edinburgh instruments have integrated many
customer specific detectors into their spectrometer range.
